Cool but Not Dehumidify | Poor Cooling (Simple Troubleshooting)

Your room air conditioner cools the air of the room normally but it does not dehumidify properly (poor dehumidifying)! The following is simple troubleshooting guide for you:

  1. Make sure you set the temperature as well as the recommendation of the owner’s manual of your unit. Set it properly and allow around 10-15 minutes for the temperature to establish (stabilize).
  2. Check the adjustment of fan mode! Set it from low to medium (in order to control the fan speed at the correct level).
  3. Set or move the temperature to a lower level. If there is no problem with your unit, it must be cooling the room and also the moisture will be removed.
  4. Check the cooling capacity of your unit. Perhaps the room is too large for your unit. Therefore, ensure your room air conditioner is sized correctly, add another unit if the existing unit has lower size or use new one with greater capacity if the budget permits. Continue reading

Mini Split Air Conditioners | Pros and Cons!

One of popular choices to cool the air when the summer comes is mini split air conditioners. They are not only popular in residential buildings but also have a lot of potential applications and practices in institutional and commercial installations. Mostly they are designed with ductless mechanism so there is no ducted cooling system for the installation. Moreover, they also familiar to be used for small apartments & room additions, especially when installing and applying distribution ductwork is not supported or not feasible to be installed. However, there is not appliance that will be 100 percent perfect! Like regular split models, mini split air conditioning units also have two major components that are indoor air-handling unit (evaporator) and outdoor unit (condenser/ compressor). And they use a proper mini conduit to link between indoor and outdoor unit. A conduit usually houses and contents the suction tubing, condensate drain, power cables, and refrigerant tubing!
